Painting
My work has long centered on expressing my identity as a Latina and a woman, drawing on childhood memories to explore relationships within the Hispanic community and the interconnected themes of memory and grief. Recently, however, the backgrounds of those pieces have become the foundation for a new direction, one rooted in color exploration and mark-making. My practice is now driven by a deep fascination with color and the immersive possibilities of abstraction. In my most recent work, I aim to create spaces where viewers can experience the emotional and sensory impact of pigment, gesture, and material.
